Aprilia Mana 850, 2009

Aprilia Mana 850, 2009

APRILIA MANA 850, MANA ABS

Aprilia Mana is the latest in motorcycle technology. Aprilia only by the legendary technical skills, would have dared to take up the challenge of this magnitude. Aprilia 850 Mana is so advanced and so unique that it simply can not be compared to any other bike. Mana takes all the stress of motorcycling while injecting more satisfaction and more fun driving in all conditions, commuting accidents sport-touring on the open road. All you need to make a new world is press the button on the handlebar. Its revolutionary Sportgear transmission is electronically controlled to provide an unparalleled driving pleasure. So whatever style of riding, and what time, Mana is the bike that you want to be.

The transportation management system offers a choice of three "Autodrive" mappings plus a manual, seven speed, sequential gearshift, so you can be absolutely sure to find the ideal ratio for all traffic conditions and electoral preference. Whether you're in town or chewing blowing the cobwebs of a winding road, the Aprilia Mana always provides the ideal response and satisfaction, even a single constituency. Regardless of the conditions, despite the driver (even the most demanding), the manna guarantees a perfect line of maximum efficiency, allowing you to discover hitherto unknown potential.

The Mana's compact, sporty and ecological 90 ° V-twin engine is the ideal partner for this type of transmission. It is compact, powerful and organic. Main power and torque means brilliant performance, especially acceleration. Virtually no other naked can be followed with a Mana as it pulls away from light! However, Aprilia 850 Mana is so amazingly easy to ride that blistering performance is well within reach of every rider. The technology that Aprilia has developed for the 850 Mana is truly 'rider-friendly and incredibly easy to use. Clutch lever has gone, replaced by an electronic control system that allows you to relax and enjoy the ride. The sequential gearshift can even be operated by a single steering control and the conventional pedal.
The following are the characteristics that make the Aprilia Mana unique:
  • 90° V twin engine with four valves per cylinder, Euro 3 homologated;
  • sportgear transmission: electronically controlled sequential gearshift offering two shift modes seven speed manual or Autodrive with three mappings: Touring, Sport, and Rain
  • storage compartment with non-scratch lining, large enough for a full-face helmet, with mobile phone holder, toolkit & document holder, and 12V power socket;
  • under-seat fuel tank;
  • brakes with radial calipers;
  • 43 mm upside down fork;
  • offset monoshock with spring preload and rebound adjustments;
  • steel trellis frame with single piece aluminium swingarm;
  • twin spark ignition;
  • electronic fuel injection with single throttle body;
  • latest generation two channel ABS system (ABS version only)

DESIGN

Its unique, no doubt, the Italian style, 850 MANA is the perfect combination of elegance and practicality. Like all Aprilia Mana naked high-tech components make an important contribution to the overall design. 16-liter tank is located under the seat lower than normal, to evenly distribute the weight and lower center of gravity of the wheel. "Traditional" tank location is on the other hand, is illuminated storage compartment that is coated with non-slip, scratch resistant and large enough to accommodate full-face helmet. Department also includes the filing of Cellular and 12V.

Mana is the first motorcycle to provide a more fully integrated helmet storage, a unique advantage and extremely convenient, especially for urban commuting and travel short. The room is opened electrically by a convenient switch on the handlebars. The lid opens under the control of a hydropneumatic damper that prevents accidental opening while the bike is moving. A manual control lever in the passenger seat is set to release the lid in case of battery.
ENGINE

There is no doubt that the Mana engine has opened new horizons in the world of motorcycling, which has two cylinders that layout, electronic fuel injection, bags of torque, and above all a revolutionary transmission system that replaces the conventional mechanical gearbox and offers' completely new motorcycling experience even sport driving conditions.

To develop this amazing new engine, Aprilia has relied on the expertise of the best designers in the world, and everybody knows their R & D. Aprilia V twin four stroke longitudinal 90 °. Liquid cooling. Single-chain cam, four valves per cylinder. Fuel Unleaded petrol. Bore x Stroke 88 x 69 mm. Total capacity of 839.3 cc. Compression ratio 10:01. Max power: 56 kW (76.1 hp) at 8000 rpm. The maximum torque of crank 7.45 kgm (73 Nm) at 5000 rpm. Supply system of the integrated engine management. Weber Marelli electronic one 38 mm throttle body. Digital electronic ignition, two spark plugs per cylinder, integrated with the injection. Launch Electric. Mana: The future of the exchange The most interesting part of the Mana engine does not believe its primary role, which is based on an electronically controlled sequential gearbox, which offers the choice of methods of control of the pilot.

Riders two options:

- Sequential mode: The rider decides for himself when to change gear, either using the conventional pedal or a switch on the handlebars. A servo mechanism shifts the main pulley to change between the seven gear ratios amazingly quickly. During deceleration, if the rider omit to change gear manually, the control system intervenes to change down automatically, preventing engine speed from dropping below the set threshold and providing another valuable aid to active safety.

- Fully automatic mode (Autodrive): Sophisticated electronics assume control over everything, and the CVT transmission keeps the engine running at maximum torque speed for optimum pickup and acceleration. The Sportgear transmission offers a choice of three mappings:
Touring: for minimum consumption and maximum usability.
Sport: for top performance with blistering acceleration
Rain: for use on wet or slippery roads

- Semi-Autodrive mode allows the rider only to change down independently. This is particularly useful for overtaking at maximum torque revs or for boosting engine braking when riding down a hill.

The 90° V engine, chosen for torque and power delivery, is the perfect match for this type of transmission. Delivering 76 horsepower at the crank and well in excess of 7 kgm of torque (at 5,000 rpm), the engine produces an extremely flat power curve that translates into plenty of ready power even at low revs.

The FRAME
The robust steel tube trellis frame sets new standards for this class of machine and ensures top level handling in line with the characteristics of the innovative engine. The single piece aluminium swingarm is damped by a monoshock that is laterally offset to free up space for the exhaust pipe behind the engine and make the motorcycle more compact. The MANA has a wheelbase of only 1,463 mm, extremely short for a naked, even a sports model.

Brakes Front: double stainless steel floating disc ( 320 mm). Radial calipers with four pistons.
Rear: stainless steel disc ( 260 mm). Single piston caliper. Two channel ABS system (Mana ABS).

The SUSPENSION
The 43 mm upside down fork slides easily and features an optimised setup for excellent performance even under sport riding conditions. 120 mm of front wheel travel lets you tackle all sorts of road surface.

The BRAKES
Impressive stopping power is delivered by the very best braking technology currently available, developed in-house by Aprilia. Radial calipers with 4 pistons are the state of the art for motorcycle brakes and ensure maximum active safety under all braking conditions. The generous front discs are 320 mm in diameter, the standard size for Aprilia's big bikes, and are complemented by a single 260 mm rear disc.
A sophisticated two channel ABS system maximises the Mana ABS's already impressive levels of active and passive safety by preventing wheel lock on slippery surfaces and improving braking performance.

Valentino Rossi MotoGP Supports Plan to return to the 1000cc engine

The idea of using 1000 cc engine in MotoGP win the support of Valentino Rossi. What is the reason that makes the champion of the world provide support?

Ideas about the 1000 cc engine proposed by the President of FIM (Federation International Motor) Vito Ippolito. According to these concepts will make the competition more interesting.

This idea began to get support, one of Rossi. "I want to return to MotoGP in 1000 cc and these ideas will reduce 70 percent of electronic devices available today," said Rossi told RAI Sport as reported Visordown. "I think it is a fair deduction," continued the Doctor.

FIAT Yamaaha driver was aware that it is not easy to realize the plan. "Unfortunately, until now still not many rules that fit to support the plan and all are required to act up. We do need to give the boundaries but with a clever way," he said.

Currently using Moto 800cc four-stroke engine. This era began since 2007 when the FIM 990cc lowering of standards that have been used since 2002.

Rossi himself is one of the drivers who criticize the 800cc because of the many electronic devices are used.

MotoGP Plan Ideas Back to the 1000cc Engine

Perhaps the existence of the MotoGP 800cc engine will not last long. The problem has now emerged about the idea of the FIM-level capacity to 1000cc.

800cc four-stroke era began since 2007 when the (International Motorcycle Federation) FIM 990cc lowering of standards that have been used since 2002.

But that era probably will not last long after the President of the FIM, Vito Ippolito stated his idea of an increase to 1000cc. Ippolito himself gave a discourse is not with any reason.

According to all the manufacturers who are in the highest class would agree with the idea that will make the competition due to more attractive. Ippolito also sure it will not appear in conflict with World Superbike event which was also one-liter engine, because each race has its own characteristics.

"Manufacturers want MotoGP 1000cc engine, so it is what it is. 800cc engine is not working because it has power roughly the same (to 990cc) but only increased the speed of turning," he said in Autosport Motosprint as preached.

800cc own the system often got complaints from the riders related to the amount of electronic equipment involved in it. Criticism of them came from Valentino Rossi who called the current MotoGP quite boring.

Casey Stoner Impressed with the Ability of Ben Spies in MotoGP

ducati casey stoner
Ben Spies is only one involved direct competition with the MotoGP drivers. But it has made one of the drivers, that is Casey Stoner, was impressed.

Spies will make her debut in the full MotoGP next year. For this season Superbike 2009 world champion this time tried to show MotoGP in Valencia.

The result was disappointing to finish the seventh position. Meanwhile in Valencia practice session in mid-November ago, he showed a more promising performance that is sitting as the fourth fastest driver.

"I'm really impressed with his performance. He did his job well," Stoner said as quoted by Motorcycle News.

"At the beginning of the season I've told him that he was no longer need to be in World Superbike. He is the fastest in Superbike racing and not have to prove anything in there," continued the strengthening Ducati racer's.

Stoner added that Spies has some attitude as she did. "He was very calm and loves this sport, just like me. He also did not like other things beyond that."

"He understood that the current challenges awaited her and she had to do everything with full force," complete the Australian racer.

Dani Pedrosa MotoGP want to return to the 990cc class

Honda RCV 212 Dani PedrosaDani Pedrosa to return to the past, where MotoGP is still using the engine capacity of 990cc. The Spanish driver of this rate is used when the motor is too complicated.

Pedrosa's mind was back to the past, precisely in the year 2006. "The year 2006 was my debut in MotoGP and the last time this championship with a motorcycle engine 990cc," Pedrosa said as reported Visordown. "Motor is very different from what we drive now," he added.

24-year-old driver was judged that the motor is used when it is too ribet than three years ago. "The motor that we use today, too many electronic devices that make us have to continue to monitor panels instructions," said Pedrosa.

Smurf Spanish rider's nickname was said that he hopes someday when MotoGP returned using 990 cc. "If we really go back to 990 cc, then I will welcome that decision with a warm," he said.

Pedrosa opinion is quite different from her accomplishments. Since its debut in the MotoGP race at this point, the only season where Pedrosa finished outside the top three are in season 2006, where when he used his 990 cc motorcycle.

But perhaps the achievement of three years ago was also caused because he still needed adaptation in his first season in motor racing is the primary class.
